The End Of Books

images-2The very first types of written literature were written on a paper like material and was very easy to make. Books, newspapers, and magazines have always been a popular way to read until the past decade. In the year 2012, a little over 73 privately owned bookstores have closed down in the United States. In the city of Yorba Linda; not to far from Chapman University, the three major book stores have shut down in the past four years leaving the Yorba Linda library the only major place to get books. The main reason for the decline in books in the past few years, has been the advancement of technology and the many ways people can purchase books over the internet. The new reading device called the Kindle and Kindle Fire; allows people to have multiple books downloaded on to one device, that is the same size as a standard book. Along with having the capability to have multiple books on one source, you have the convenient to buy books from the same device. This cuts down the waiting time for a new book to only minutes, instead of ordering it online or traveling to the nearest book store. The decisions in todays society are based off of Convenience and the way that exerts the least amount of effort. The internet also has a large impact towards the declining sales of books. The internet creates a market with countless websites that allow you to buy books and to have them shipped to you within a few days. Some of the websites that sell a great deal of books are: Amazon.com, half.com, Ebay, Craglist.com, and Ebookman.com. In addition, books can also be downloaded to your iPod, if you wish to listen to a book on the go or in the car. In conclusion, the use of books is becoming out dated as technology creates an easier and quicker way to acquire books, that will never rip or get old.

images-1As an author of new upcoming books, I would suggest promoting his books and making them available to be bought online . Many bookstores are converting to online sales to broaden their ways to make revenue in a slow market, making online sales a better way to get your book seen. In addition to selling your books online, I would try to make it available to download onto your Kindle or iPod, which is the new popular way to read books.
